Many of us are enjoying drinking this most popular drink in the world which is the coffee that a lot of people are sometimes addicted to it. But could you blame them? As much as it contains high percentage of caffeine, it still has some benefits which could be very helpful to those who are drinking it. Actually, cultivation of coffee plants was first done in Yemen, approximately at 850 C.E. and later was spread to its neighbouring countries until it is widely known until these days. Nowadays, there are a lot of variations and enhancements done with coffee beans, one of which is the cool beans coffee which gives an extra savouring taste on the drink itself.
Coffee has a wide variety of plants that has flower and with more than 90 kinds. It is a shrub though it grows as high as a tree. It could now be harvest for around 3 months though the harvesting time could be done throughout the year. There several ways on how to harvest the plant, either selective or strip-picking, depending on the maturity of the fruits. On the other hand, the two processes involve in coffee processing are wet or dry processing but the latter is believed to be cheaper of the two.
There are two main class of coffee being grown today. They are the Arabica and Robusta. The former is known to supply most of the stocks of the coffee trade in the world. Because of its aromatic properties and superior grade, it is usually subjected as gourmet. This specie is widely grown across the globe although a few of it passes the strictest of the Specialty Coffee Association of America’s Standard. Nevertheless, Arabica is still considered as the most popular specie of coffee as evidenced by its trading record.
Robusta, on the other hand makes up for as little as 20% of the world’s production of coffee. This kind is of lower grade or value but contains higher percentage of caffeine like twice of its caffeine. It is much easier to produce and cultivate because it grows in lower elevations. This is so, since producers and farmers let it grow that way to achieve a cheap price coffee in the market. There are still other species of coffee but is very rare and is seldom sold in the market. • Kenyan Coffee – As the name implies it is obvious that this type of coffee bean could be found in Mount Kenya and actually surrounds it. This is known to have an acidic taste and leaves a gross aftertaste at your tongue.
• Columbian Coffee – This specie accounts for at almost 10% of the world’s coffee supply. It is also one of the popular kinds of coffee because of its widely seen advertising iconic symbols namely Juan Valdez and the mule, Conchita.
• Ethiopian Coffee – This coffee is known for its ramification that is near to the taste of dry red wine. Each of which is named after the region of its origin.
• Brazilian Coffee – These kinds of coffee was brought to the Island of Bourbon and is known for its low acidity, mild and pleasing aroma, and smooth flavour.
• Sumatran Coffee – This has somewhat same characteristic with Brazilian coffee. It has low acidity ratio, earthly aroma and a sweet scent.
• Tanzanian Coffee – It concentrates not on traditional coffee beans but on pea berries. Usually, each fruit contains 2 seeds and only 5percent among crops have single bean which is known to give a more concentrated flavour.
A huge variety of coffee beans are still exist all over the globe and each of which could have been contribute to a more pleasant smell and taste of cool beans coffee. However, taking in too much caffeine in the body has also several side effects that may later lead to certain kinds of diseases like Cardiac Disease, Cancer and a lot more. Therefore, it is recommended to take an average amount of coffee in one day. You just have to savour its taste more.
